About Hanne Ihlen:
Education and Experience
In 1998 I graduated as a Social Worker. After completing my study I moved to Great Britain where I stayed for approx 9 years. I worked here in various settings and with different client groups. This included working as social worker and residential- and day centre officer with children and adults with mental health problems, ADHD, autism, challenging behaviour, the elderly, physically and mentally disabled people, I worked for approx 3 years for the NCPCC as a social worker, and I worked as a children- and families social worker in various county's in London and in Aberdeen, Schotland. Part- time I worked freelance as a drama teacher, and later as a dramatherapist with various client groups within the community. In 2005 I gained my bachelor and master diploma in Drama therapy in London at the University of Herdfordshire.
In 2006 I moved back to the Netherlands. After I worked in various settings as a social worker and therapist I decided in 2009 to start my own therapy practice. I never looked back.
Over the years I completed various courses to develop myself further as a professional. This included training in Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Developmental Transformations, Narrative Sandplay, Forum theatre and Narrative therapy.
I recently completed my Bachelor diploma as Supervisor and currently I am training to be a psychodratherapist.
What people say:
'Talking to the group after Hanne had left it became apparent that they valued her approach and found the exercises she introduced to be 'interesting', 'challenging' and 'enjoyable'. She managed to make the group feel secure and offered ample oppurtunity for the group to use drama and discussion as means of exploration. Overall I found Hanne to be an exceptionally thoughtful and professional student. She engaged fully in her task and set about achieving aims and objectives that she had highlighted. I do think Hanne will make a very good dramatherapist as she has a natural inclination to be compassionate as well as challenging and engaging'. Old placement teacher.
